The Los Angeles Sports Council and the Southern California Committee for the Olympic Games (SCCOG) has named Seth Makowsky to the Board of Directors.
The Sports Council is a private, non-profit organization. It supports economic and community development by promoting spectator sports programs throughout the Los Angeles and Orange County areas.
SCCOG, founded in 1939, has supported the Olympic Movement for nearly a century. In recent years, the organization has worked tirelessly to bring the Games back to Los Angeles. These efforts were recently rewarded, with Los Angeles selected as host city for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Seth Makowsky is the CEO of Makowsky Group and Poison Pawn. Makowsky Group is a leading advisory and management firm specializing in driving world-class performance and pursuing new growth opportunities for high-level organizations. Makowsky is a 1998 graduate of the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. He currently sits on the executive committee for LA Sports Summit, and previously was a board member with the Orlando Ballet. Makowsky also serves as a strategist and board member of several other for-profit organizations as well.
